This was one of the most fun weddings we had the pleasure of Catering. The Bride and Groom were so awesome and really let us get creative.

Words from the Bride – Carin:
One thing you can certainly say about Justin and me is that we do not take ourselves too seriously. That’s why when we started planning our wedding we wanted to choose a theme that reflected us as a couple but also allowed everyone to have a lot of fun. Since we’re both game nerds, we chose a board game theme. We also knew that, even though we had recently relocated to New York for my job, we would have to throw the wedding in Austin since it’s where we met, where we got engaged, and it happens to be our favorite city.
Unfortunately, our original venue canceled on us a couple months before the wedding – yikes!
Fortunately, we found a new venue just outside of Austin – TerrAdorna – that had recently opened. Turns out, this place was just perfect for us: a stunning Texas vista with a dash of sass and eclecticism. Also because of the venue change, we were able to secure Catering with a Twist for creative, beautiful, and delicious food!
As guests braved our short ceremony in the Texas sun, they fanned themselves with the programs we designed to resemble a retro board game box. Our officiant used a booklet I crafted to hold “playing card” readings for each of us. On their way to the reception indoors, each of our guests signed our “guestbook” (blocks from a hand-painted Jenga set) and took their escort cards which matched the board game (meticulously crafted by Justin) on their assigned table.
The food was absolutely scrumptious! We started with watermelon-lime popsicles, avocado eggrolls, and mini-empanadas, then moved on to the serious stuff: guacamole sliders and street tacos. Justin and I shared bride and groom cake-pops from Sweet Treets bakery. Then the music kicked into high gear and everyone made their way onto the dance floor for great moments like a no-holds-barred Don’t Stop Believing sing-a-long. Perhaps the highlight of the evening was when we paused the dance party for a surprise game of Twister! The sparkler send-off – complete with handmade game-themed sparkler tags – capped our perfect night.
